When the pandemic first broke out in the spring of 2020, a number of CSL faculty jumped into action to come up with AI solutions to combat COVID-19. The C3.ai Digital Transformation Institute, co-led by CSL’s R. Srikant, funded 26 projects on the topic, five of which were led by CSL researchers at UIUC’s Grainger College of Engineering.
